You may have noticed increased activity at the reservoir site in recent weeks. As part of a planned maintenance programme, Stonbury will be carrying out essential remedial works at Sedgley Reservoir on behalf of South Staffs Water. Throughout the project, both South Staffs Water and Stonbury will be working together to minimise any disruption for residents.
We will keep you updated on the progress of these works via this website. Community Portal will allow you to follow the progress of the project, view the footpath diversion details and read information regarding when there may be potential disruptions or an increase of traffic due to deliveries. You can even post questions!
Sedgley Reservoir, constructed in the early 1970’s is a large covered drinking water reservoir hidden beneath the surface, blending into the surrounding environment at Sedgley Beacon.
The project involves proactive maintenance of the reservoir structure. This requires a large area of the site to be excavated to expose the roof of the reservoir, the works will then be undertaken and the site reinstated.
At South Staffs Water, we are committed to supplying high quality and reliable water to our customers. This maintenance will ensure long term reliability of the reservoir.
The maintenance works are expected to be complete by the end of October 2018.
These works will cause no interruption to your water supply.
If we haven’t answered your question already, there are a number of ways you can find out more.
